The rugged allure of Virgin Gorda’s southwestern tip beckoned us as we set out on a daring expedition to conquer Devil’s Bay. This horseshoe-shaped enclave was a picture-perfect gem at the end of a thrilling 15-minute hike through the untamed wilderness of dry scrub vegetation and colossal boulders. Our journey began at the car park atop The Baths, where anticipation hung heavy in the air.
The path weaved through a landscape that seemed both ancient and untouched, a testament to nature’s artistry. Towering granite sentinels greeted us, their imposing presence demanding respect and reverence. It was here that the real adventure began, for at the eastern end of this enchanted trail lay The Baths—a mesmerizing labyrinth of massive granite boulders.
To navigate this geological wonderland, we needed to be prepared for anything. Crawling through narrow crevices, climbing ladders that bridged the colossal stones, and wading through crystal-clear waters that whispered secrets of the deep were all part of the exhilarating journey. Every step taken, every handhold grasped, brought us deeper into the heart of this geological masterpiece.
As we emerged on the other side, the reward for our bravery awaited—an oasis of tranquility. A pristine stretch of sand embraced by turquoise waters, it was a paradise within a paradise.

Established in 1963, this wonderland lives up to its reputation as one of Virgin Gorda’s most beautiful treasures.
